Virtual Research Navigator (2016-2020)

Virtual Research Navigator (VRN) is a collaboration between the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and USC Institute for Creative Technologies. The goal is to to use a virtual agent to better inform children and their guardians about different aspects of clinical trials at the CHLA. The virtual agent, Zippy, can guide users through a multi-model experience on a variety of topics and once the user has some exposure to the materials Zippy can field whatever questions they would like to ask it. The experience is delivered via a Surface tablet with CHLA personnel nearby.

My Work

My primary contributions were in overall project management, interaction with the client, user experience design and rigging of the main character Zippy.
